Welcome to AYSO Oak Park Region 697.
Oak Park AYSO serves upwards of 2000 children from our community. Our primary playing season is in the fall (August through November), with a smaller follow-on season in the spring (April through June). We offer a range of programs for players from first grade through High School.
We keep with the philosophies of the national American Youth Soccer Organization. The best part: EVERYBODY PLAYS!
There are no try-outs for recreational soccer, just safe, fair, and fun play. Details about our program and answers to every question we can think of are shown on the Frequently Asked Questions page. AYSO groups kids into divisions based on their age as of 31 July of the Fall season year. The Age Eligibility Chart for 2011/2012 identifies which age division a child will play in.
For your registration fees, all players receive a jersey, shorts, socks, equipment and dedicated coaching. Fees also cover insurance, field rental charges, coaches training, and various administration costs.
Everyone in our regional soccer program level is a volunteer. All the administrative staff, the board members and the coaches donate their time to give the children a great experience. They are parents just like you. That means we need you too!
Beyond the standard soccer-Mom / soccer-Dad fun of finding the lost gear, getting kids dressed, and transporting them to practice and games, parents play a vital part in making the behind-the-scenes processes work. Simply volunteering to do a one-day one-time job helps a lot! Check out the VOLUNTEERING page for opportunities. Every job is part of providing your children with a wonderful soccer experience.
